Civic Holidays are nonpartisan days of action that highlight different parts of the voting experience鈥攆rom registering to vote and learning what's on the ballot to voting early and recognizing the people who make elections possible.

National Voter Registration Day is a nonpartisan civic holiday focused on helping eligible voters register to vote or update their voter registration information.
Not sure whether your registration is current? National Voter Registration Day is also a good opportunity to check your voter status and make sure your address and other information are up to date.

Constitution Day and Citizenship Day commemorates the signing of the U.S. Constitution on September 17, 1787, and provides an opportunity to learn more about the Constitution, American government, and citizenship.

National Voter Education Week is a nonpartisan voter education campaign designed to help voters move from being registered to being ready to cast their ballot.
Throughout the week, voters are encouraged to learn where and how they can vote, understand what's on their ballot, review trusted election information, and make a plan to vote.

Vote Early Day
Vote Early Day is a nonpartisan day of action focused on helping voters understand their options for casting a ballot before Election Day.
In California, voters may have several options for voting early, including returning a vote-by-mail ballot, using an official ballot drop box, or voting in person at an early voting location or Vote Center.

California Voter Registration Deadline
October 19 is the regular voter registration deadline for the November 3, 2026 General Election.
If you miss the deadline, California's Same Day Voter Registration process is available beginning October 20 through Election Day.

Election Day
The 2026 Gubernatorial General Election is Tuesday, November 3. In San Diego County, Vote Centers are open on Election Day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Eligible voters may vote in person at any Vote Center in San Diego County or return a completed vote-by-mail ballot at an official ballot drop box or Vote Center by 8 p.m.
