International Education Week (IEW) is an annual event organized by the U.S. Departments of State and Education to highlight the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. Join us as we celebrate the rich global heritage within our community.
Summer 2026 Study Abroad
Applications open for the summer 2026 MiraCosta study abroad programs. Application instructions will be emailed on Friday, November 14. Application links will open at 7:30 am on Monday, November 17 at 7:30 am.

IEW Extravaganza
Tuesday, November 18 from 12 - 2 PM
Oceanside Campus Fountain
Join us for this interactive event! Free admission where you can:
- Taste the World: Savor free samples that celebrate a diversity of cultural heritage.
- Live Performances: Experience music and dance from various cultures.
- Culture & Arts: Discover other cultures and countries through interactive poster sessions, and participate in hands-on activities like the "Peace" chalk walk or make a flower crown.
- Study Abroad: Connect with our program faculty and discover opportunities in Japan, Paris, and Spain.
- Conversation Cafe: Join us for a language exchange! All levels are welcome for Spanish, French, Italian, and Japanese.

IEW Art Across Borders: Solidarity through paint
Wednesday, November 19 from 3-5 pm
Aztlan Oceanside Campus
Hosted by AMEMSA+ Join us as we paint poppies and kites (symbols of resilience, remembrance and freedom) while sipping tea and building solidarity with Palestine. This is a space to connect, create and honor the struggle for justice through collective expression.
All supplies provided. Registration required to ensure enough materials.

Thursday, November 20 from 2 - 3 pm

Ever wondered what it鈥檚 like to study, work, or live abroad? Join us for Around the World in 5 Minutes 鈥� a fast-paced, fun event where you鈥檒l 鈥渢ravel鈥� from table to table every five minutes! Each stop features a MiraCosta staff or faculty member who has had an international experience 鈥� from studying or researching abroad to living in another country.
Ask questions, hear amazing stories, and get inspired to start your own global journey!

IEW Extravaganza International Poster Contest: Celebrate Your Culture and Adventures!
The poster with the highest number of votes will receive a $100 gift card.
Calling all students! Here鈥檚 your chance to share what makes your culture unique.
Create a poster that showcases the beauty of your heritage鈥攚hether it鈥檚 famous landmarks,
traditional clothing, delicious foods, or meaningful customs. Let鈥檚 highlight the
diversity that makes our community so vibrant and connected! Have you explored the
world? You can also create a poster featuring your international travels and the amazing
experiences you鈥檝e had along the way.
Let your creativity shine and inspire others to learn, connect, and celebrate our global community! Feel free to create a poster on your own or drop by the poster making session to create one.
Submit posters to the International Office by Monday, November 17th by 4 pm. Posters
will be displayed at the
IEW Extravaganza on Tuesday, November 18th from 12 - 2 pm at the OC Fountain.
